Public Facilities & Amenities Sub Committee Report
Since the last report, the Sub-Committee had continued to foster close rapport with the local division of DBKL viz, DBKL Cawangan Segambut. A lot of assistance had been extended to the RA by the various officers attached to this DBKL branch office and it is with this level of understanding that we are able to tackle the various issues and problems besetting the Taman Tun community.
The meeting with DBKL Cawangan Segambut on 2 October 2004 also saw the presence of several Alam Flora Sdn Bhd’s representatives, a full team of officers from the DBKL’s local office inclusive of its enforcement officer, and all the members of the TTDI RA Sub-committee on Public Utilities and Amenities.
The first part of the meeting touched on the services that are provided by Alam Flora viz.:-
(a) ...Sweeping of rubbish
(b) ...Cleaning of drain
(c) ...Clearing of rubbish from all parks
(d) ...Garbage Collection.
TTDI RA’s representatives were briefed on the full job description and scope of services that are provided by Alam Flora. Many complaints and suggestions were forwarded to Alam Flora, ranging from the quality, efficiency, and frequency of services to be provided by this urban services company. At the end of the meeting, the RA’s representatives present were satisfied with the full assurance given by Alam Flora that its men are fully contactable by the RA at anytime, especially if there be any shortcoming of any of its services rendered.
The second part of the meeting was limited to the presence of only the RA’s representatives and the officers of DBKL Cawangan Segambut, led by En Anwar bin Mohd Zain, the Branch Manager. A number of pertinent issues were discussed and the following conclusions were arrived at:-
(a) ...Residents may continue to complain directly to DBKL Segambut, either by telephone or in person by going to the office at Jalan Wan Kadir 1;
(b) ...Residents may write their complaints to the RA for the RA to take up the matter further with DBKL;
(c) ...The RA will present all complaints and suggestions to DBKL in writing on a weekly basis.
For everyone’s information, En Anwar has been promoted to another division at DBKL Headquarters with effect from 21st October. The RA would like to record its gratitude for all the support that he has given and wishes him the very best in his new position.
The new Pengurus of DBKL Segambut is En Mohd Nazam, who took over from En Anwar with immediate effect. The RA Chairman had the opportunity to meet up with En Nazam and his team of officers on 5 November 2004. The RA hopes that the meeting marked the start of a cordial relationship with DBKL Cawangan Segambut, that will take Taman Tun Dr Ismail a step higher as far as maintenance and upkeep of our beloved housing area is concerned.
