OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE
APOLLO-TTDI RA EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT
SERVICES SCHEME

Date: Saturday 1st October 2005
Venue: Apollo TTDI Medical Centre

This was a very historic day, first of its kind, and a real milestone in the history of the TTDI Residents' Association. On this day, the RA officially signed an agreement with the Apollo TTDI Medical Centre whereby the Medical Centre agreeed to provide emergency medical services to registered RA's members and their immediate dependents without a deposit being made first on being admitted. It is a well-known fact that the faster a patient receives treatment in an emergency situation, the better his chances of survival.

So imagine the scenario where the head of the household falls seriously ill and needs immediate medical services. And the normal practice for most medical centres is to collect a deposit up front on admittance. This could pose a problem in such emergency situations. But with this agreement signed on this day, the RA's members will still be able to get the necessary treatment in such emergency situations.

Present to sign on behalf of Apollo TTDI Medical Centre was their chairman, Dato' Dr. Ghandhiraj Somasundram. In his short address to the guests present, he made the welcome annoucement that very soon Apollo would be expanding into the building next door, so there would be more space for more facilities to be provided.

The Chairman of TTDI RA, Hj Abdul Latif Mohd Som, signed for the Residents' Association. In his welcome address, he encouraged all members to register for the scheme, but stressed that that the no-deposit waiver is only for emergency situations and the patients would still have to pay for their medical bills and expenses in full, though it is understood that Apollo will be giving some discounts to RA's registered members.

On hand to witness this historic moment was our MP for Segmbut, Dato' Dr. Tan Kee Kwong. Being a medical doctor by profession himself, he appreciated and commended the initiative of the TTDI RA in coming up with this scheme.

So make your way now to Apollo TTDI Medical Centre to register you and your dependents for the Scheme.
